Deliciously sustainable snacks help fight food waste & your cravings!

 

Here in Obeo our aim is to tackle the ever growing food waste problem by encouraging people to recycle. To date we have managed to divert  an estimated 775,000KG of food waste from landfill. Luckily we are not alone in this fight. There are a number of other amazing companies who are coming up with innovative ways to tackle this ever growing issue. Over the next few months we will be selecting our favorites  to feature on our blog.

 Who is bio-bean?

 

We’re back with another feature blog post and this week our focus is on bio-bean. This nifty little company is the first in the world to industrialise the process of recycling waste coffee grounds into advanced biofuels and biochemicals. Founded in 2013 byArthur Kay, the company has grown rapidly, releasing its first consumer product, Coffee Logs, onto the market in 2016.

This week Obeo is adding a fashionable feature to the list in the form of sustainably produced bags. Mamukko is the brainchild of Hungarian brothers, Levente & Attila Magyar. The venture was born out of the desire to to produce beautifully designed leather goods in a sustainable manner. Mamukko is all about upcycling, creativity & passion! The brothers have carried on their family’s heritage as 4th generation creators & designers but have added a sustainable twist. The two operate out of their workshop and shop in Kinsale where they sell an eclectic and funky mix of handmade upcycled products.
